lChildren on the streets - are those who work on the streets but don’t live there and still maintain regular contact with families.  Although some of them have stopped school altogether and work full time in the streets, some still go to school and work long hours after classes.   They have families to whom they go home after the day’s work is done. They compose majority of street children, at least  70%

lChildren of the streets -  they see the streets as their home and from where they get income, food, shelter.  They recreate a sort of family among their companions.  They may still have family connections but they regard these ties as bad and therefore infrequently visit their families. 

Children of the streets
lThey are the ones who have run away from home, from their families, for one reason or another. They usually withhold information regarding their families, where they can be found. They comprise roughly 25% of the Filipino street children

The completely abandoned children  - those who have completely disconnected from their biological families.  Completely abandoned and neglected, they are entirely on their own for physical and psychological survival.  They are the true street children.  They comprise about 5% of the entire group of street children.
